Daddy's birthday in Yellowstone!

This year Beau got the day off for his birthday so we thought it would be a fun time to take the kids to Yellowstone! We packed the cooler, wagon, kids, and headed out! Quickly we realized the Portable DVD player bit the dust due to some cute little fingers touching things they shouldn't have been touching....I was upset and Beau said, "Well lets not ruin a good day!" So we headed for the road without them! However, it turned out to be a BLESSING in disguise. The kids were soooo good. I still can't get over it! We started the day with a stop at Big Springs for the kids to feed the big fish! It was tons of fun and the kids LOVED it! We even got to see a Muscrat and the kids thought he was pretty dang cute!!! Then we had fun walking through the cabin that a 4'11" man built completely all by hand on his own in 1929. It was really neat and the kids loved it!!

We then had our picnic lunch in our car and headed for Yellowstone Park. The kids were so excited and we visited about what animals we would see! The first up was a Buffalo in a total downpour of rain!! The kids thought it was awesome!  We saw tons of Elk, Beau's favorite was a small spike! Lots of Buffalo...one was literally so close Callie could have pet it out her window, and a Mule Deer! It was a successful trip for seeing animals!!!

Next up we headed to the Geysers and Old Faithful! The kids loved seeing all the steam and riding in the wagon....they did not love the Rotten Egg smell! HAHA! Callie kept saying, "What is that smell mom!" They LOVED Old Faithful and couldn't believe how big it was!

Next we headed in a Giant circle to make a loop through the park and found these gorgeous waterfalls. They were beautiful and the kids couldn't believe them!

The kids were so incredibly good all day we knew we needed to make a special trip to some of the shops to let them pick a souvenir. We played games like "What do you love about Dad", "What should we name the baby", how many different State License plates can we find.....we sang songs, we danced, and told stories. What a blessing this trip was for my little family. The kids got a long so well and we didn't have any problems...they laughed and I know that the trip would have been "less special" had their eyes been glued to the DVD player. I am so glad it broke!!! What a blessing Beau is to us and we are so grateful to have celebrated a fun and memorable birthday with him!!! The kids were so thrilled with their choices...they each got a bag of polished rocks and stuffed animal. Over all it was a HUGE success.  The Eddie's LOVED Yellowstone! From leaving the house at 9:30 am and we didn't get home til midnight....what a fun filled day!!!

Callie picked a purple moose and Decker picked an adorable little Brown Otter!!
